Frigidaire Range Repair

Few brands cover as many range types as Frigidaire. There are freestanding and slide-in models in gas, induction, electric coil and electric smoothtop, and the brand is now among the more affordable ways to get an induction range. Basic freestanding units fill rental kitchens, while remodels tend to get Gallery and Professional slide-ins. Each fuel type brings its own familiar set of faults.

Induction is where the newest repairs come from. Each cooking zone is driven by a power board, and those boards depend on a cooling fan under the cooktop to stay within temperature. A fan that stalls, or a board stressed by a surge, produces dead zones, error tones or shutdowns mid-cook. Cookware matters too: if a magnet will not stick firmly to the bottom of the pan, the zone will not run.

Gas Frigidaire ranges follow a well-worn pattern. The oven bake igniter weakens first, then the surface spark igniters or the spark module get fouled by boil-overs. Coil electrics are even simpler, and a single burned receptacle or a worn infinite switch is often the whole problem, showing up as a burner that heats only on high, or never warms. Smoothtops add radiant elements and their own switches.

We test the range as a whole rather than only the burner you called about, so a second weak part does not fail a week later. That means igniters and spark module, switches and receptacles, radiant elements, induction boards and fan, and the main control. When we need rear access and the range comes out, the floor gets protected and we reconnect the anti-tip bracket when it goes back.

Most Frigidaire range repairs cost little relative to the appliance. The exceptions are an induction power board or a main control on an aging basic model, where the bill can approach a new range, and we will tell you so. Many Tampa homes are all-electric, which is why coil, smoothtop and induction Frigidaire ranges are such a common sight in local kitchens.
