Tampa Appliance Repair
With Nothing Left Unexplained

Tampa ProFix Repair repairs the refrigerators, laundry pairs, dishwashers and cooking appliances that Tampa Bay homes and small businesses rely on, and makes sure you understand every repair before it happens.

Who We Are

Tampa ProFix Repair is an in-home appliance repair service for Tampa and the wider Tampa Bay area, across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties. We work in houses, condos, townhomes and rentals, and for landlords, property managers and small businesses with residential-style or light commercial equipment. The work covers the whole kitchen and laundry room: refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, wine coolers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, stoves, cooktops and microwaves, on every major brand.

We built the company around a frustration most people have felt: a technician who replaces parts until something works, quotes a number with no explanation, and leaves you guessing whether the machine was worth saving. Our visits run the other way. We find the actual fault, show you what we found, give you the price, and let you make the call.

Tampa is hard on appliances in its own ways. Garage laundry rooms bake through the summer, humidity works on gaskets and seals, storm season brings outages and surges, and mineral scale builds up in anything that handles water. Knowing those patterns is how we get from a symptom to its cause quickly, whether the home is a Seminole Heights bungalow or a new build in Riverview.

When Repair Isn't the Right Answer

Fixing appliances is our business, but a repair only makes sense when it buys you real years of service for a fair share of what a replacement would cost. The answer depends on the unit's age, which part failed, the shape of everything around that part, and what a comparable new model sells for.

A failed pump, igniter, fan motor, gasket or sensor on a sound machine is usually money well spent. A compressor failure on an older builder-grade refrigerator, or a cracked tub on a budget washer, often is not. When we land in that territory, we lay out the trade-off and leave the decision with you.

If the appliance is young enough that the manufacturer's warranty might cover it, we will tell you before anything else, because that route can cost you nothing.

What Guides Every Visit

Four commitments that do not change with the appliance or the brand.

1

Fix the Cause, Not Just the Part

Parts rarely fail for no reason. A dryer element that burned out behind a lint-packed vent will burn out again, so we look for what wore the part out and tell you how to keep it from happening twice.

2

No Surprises on Price

You hear what failed and what the repair costs before a single screw comes out for the fix. You decide whether it goes ahead, and declining is a perfectly good answer.

3

Respect for the Home

Shoes covered, floors protected when an appliance has to move, and the work area cleaned before we leave. In a condo or HOA community, we follow the building's rules.

4

Advice You Can Act On

If the repair is not worth it on an aging unit, we say so. If the manufacturer's warranty may still cover the problem, you hear that before anything else.

What Happens When the Technician Arrives

The same four steps, whether it is a dishwasher in Brandon or a built-in refrigerator on Davis Islands.

Start with your account

When did it start, what does it sound like, is there an error code, did the power flicker last week? Those details often point straight at the fault and shorten the visit.

Measure before replacing

Components are tested with meters and the appliance's own diagnostic modes. Nothing gets replaced on a hunch, and you see the reading or the worn part that justifies the repair.

Explain it in plain English

You get a clear account of what failed and why, what the repair involves and whether a part has to be ordered, without jargon or sales pressure.

Work safely around power, water and gas

Power and water are shut off before panels come off. Gas connections are leak-checked after any work, and nobody improvises on sealed refrigerant systems.

What Tampa Does to Appliances

The local conditions behind many of the repairs we make, and the reason we ask about them during diagnosis.

Heat and humidity
Months of humid weather mean sweating fridge gaskets, mildew in front-load washer seals and dryers that struggle with long, damp vent runs.
Garages and lanais
Washers, dryers, chest freezers and second refrigerators often live in garages that pass 100°F in summer, and outdoor kitchens add salt and sun to the mix.
Storm season
From June through November, outages, brownouts and surges take out control boards and compressor relays, and storm surge can soak appliances in low-lying neighborhoods.
Water quality
Mineral scale shows up in dishwashers, ice makers and inlet valves, and homes on private wells in Lutz, Odessa or Plant City add iron, sulfur and sediment.

Where We Work

Thirteen service areas in four counties: Tampa and the Hillsborough suburbs out to Plant City and Sun City Center, St. Petersburg and Clearwater in Pinellas, Wesley Chapel and the Pasco Gulf coast, and Spring Hill in Hernando.
