Bosch Stove Repair

On a Bosch range, the stove is the part you touch every day: either sealed gas burners under heavy grates or a flat electric glass top. Here we cover just that surface. Bosch gas burners sit on sealed bases with removable caps and an electronic igniter at each position, while the electric version uses radiant elements under ceramic glass, each with its own control.

Boil-overs cause most gas burner complaints. Liquid that runs into the base fouls the igniter or knocks the cap off center, and the result is nonstop clicking, a lazy uneven flame or a burner that refuses to light. If moisture reaches the switches behind the knobs, the spark module itself can fail or start firing at the wrong times. These problems often come and go as the area dries.

With the burner off and cool, lift the cap and base off, brush them clean with warm soapy water, and dry them fully before reassembling. In humid weather that can take longer than you would expect. The cap has to sit flat and centered or the flame will be uneven. If you smell gas at any point, leave the house and call the gas utility or 911 from outside.

On the glass-top version, a radiant element may fail open, and the switch or control that feeds it can fail, so a zone that stays cold needs both tested. The hot-surface light is wired separately and may stick on or go dark while the burner itself works. A cracked glass panel is a stop sign: moisture and food can reach live parts underneath, so do not use it.

We test the spark module, switches and wiring on gas models and element resistance and control output on glass tops, and we look for evidence that a spill reached the controls, because spill damage causes faults that come and go and fool a quick inspection. Burner and igniter repairs cost little next to a new range. A replacement glass top depends on part availability and the health of the oven below.
