About Admiral Stove Repair
A lot of Admiral stoves still cooking today are in rental units, older block homes and second kitchens, and many have outlasted several tenants. Electric ones have coils or a glass top over an oven heated by separate bake and broil elements. Gas ones light the surface burners by spark or pilot and the oven with a glow-bar, and some older gas models still run standing pilots around the clock.
Those standing pilots are a recurring call. A draft, a dirty orifice or a thermocouple problem can put one out or leave it burning weak. Relighting is covered in the owner's manual, but adjusting gas parts is not a homeowner job. Yellow, lazy flames on the surface burners point to dirty ports or air shutters, and fixing them matters for both cooking results and safety.
On the electric side the faults repeat: a dead coil traced to its element, receptacle or switch, a knob that only gives full heat, and an oven gone cold from a burned bake element. Gas ovens light more and more slowly as the glow-bar weakens. Mechanical oven thermostats drift with age, and loose door hinges let the door gap open so heat escapes during baking.
Kill the breaker, then move a dead coil to a burner that works and note whether the fault moves too. Clean gas burner ports with a wire or pin and dry the igniters after a boil-over. An oven thermometer settles temperature arguments quickly. If a gas odor lingers, leave the house and ring the utility from outdoors rather than hunting for the source.
We test coils, receptacles, switches, both oven elements, the thermostat, the igniter and the gas valve, and confirm cross-references before quoting. Most Admiral stove parts are cheap and easy to source. For landlords we note the model, serial and needed part so approval is quick. If several parts are failing at once, a replacement may be the better spend.
