About Wolf Stove Repair
When people say Wolf stove, they usually mean an all-gas freestanding range with red knobs. Its top carries sealed, dual-stacked burners with an igniter apiece, and many add a center griddle or infrared charbroiler. The oven bakes with a gas burner below the cavity and broils with an infrared burner at the top, while a convection fan circulates the heat. Ignition has to work in several places at once.
Up top, the problems are familiar ones. A boil-over leaves the igniters clicking. A burner may light on the high tier but not the simmer tier, which points to that lower ring or its ports. If the spark module gives out, nothing lights at all. Because Wolf gas models re-ignite automatically, any moisture left on an igniter after cleaning can keep a lit burner clicking.
The oven is where this design gets particular. When bake burner ignition weakens, ignition comes late or never, and the oven creeps toward temperature or stalls short of it. The infrared broiler is a separate system: if it will not glow, or glows in patches, its own igniter or burner needs attention. On a range used every day, the hinges and the convection fan motor wear too.
With knobs off and the range cool, remove the grates and caps, wipe every igniter and burner head dry, and lay the caps back level. Then turn the oven on and watch: a glow or clicking with no flame is a useful detail to tell us. Leave gas valves, orifices and the regulator alone. A gas smell means everyone out, no light switches, and a call to the gas utility or 911 from outside.
Every igniter gets tested along with the spark module, ports and caps are inspected, and we watch how the oven lights. The infrared broiler, any griddle or charbroiler, the convection fan and hinges come next. All-gas Wolf ranges are designed for a long, serviceable life, so ignition, valve and broiler repairs are reasonable. If yours is still within Wolf's coverage period, we will point you there.
Where Wolf Stoves Tend to Fail
- Weak bake burner ignition leaving the oven slow or stalled short
- Infrared broiler not glowing or glowing in patches
- Simmer tier of a dual-stacked burner failing to light
- Failed spark module: no top burner will light
