Houses, Apartments & Condos Across the Tampa Bay Area
Electrolux is a Swedish manufacturer and one of the world's biggest household appliance groups. In the US it is the premium sibling of Frigidaire, known for steam front-load laundry, refrigerator and freezer columns, induction ranges and wall ovens. We tie each Electrolux unit to its exact platform, because some parts cross over from Frigidaire while others exist only for that chassis. On touch-control faults we test the supply, the harness, the interface board and the main board in sequence before recommending one.

The Step-Up Sibling of Frigidaire
Electrolux is a Swedish company and the parent of Frigidaire. In the United States the Electrolux badge marks the upper tier: steam-equipped front-load laundry, French-door and side-by-side refrigerators, matching refrigerator and freezer columns, wall ovens, built-in microwaves, and ranges in both induction and gas.
Some of what sits behind the panels is shared with the Frigidaire Gallery and Professional lines, which is useful when sourcing parts. The touch controls, steam systems, trim and certain laundry and refrigeration assemblies are Electrolux-specific, and those are where an exact model match matters most.
Touch Controls: Interface, Main Board or Power?
Nearly every Electrolux appliance splits its electronics between a user interface board behind the glass and a main control that switches the loads. A keypad that ignores you, a blank display or a flashing code can begin at either board, in the harness that joins them, or in the incoming supply.
We work through that chain one link at a time with a meter. Boards cost more than anything else on these machines and are blamed wrongly more than any other part, so we only name one after the supply, wiring and interface check out. Sometimes a full breaker reset clears a scrambled control after a power event, and we try that before anything is ordered.
Front-Load Laundry in a Florida Garage
A large share of Tampa homes keep the washer and dryer in the garage, where summer heat and humidity sit around the machines all day. An Electrolux front-loader closed up between loads in that air will quickly grow mildew in the folds of the boot and in the dispenser drawer. Leaving the door and drawer ajar, wiping the boot and running the cleaning cycle prevents most of it.
Age brings two other laundry faults. A washer that roars on spin usually has worn rear tub bearings, which is a labor-heavy job. Dryers thump or squeal as drum rollers and idler pulleys wear, and long garage vent runs that collect lint and condensation make heating faults more likely.
Door Ice Makers and Column Refrigerators
Electrolux door-mounted ice systems draw cold air from the freezer and route it through the fresh-food door into a sealed compartment. Warm air slipping past the compartment gasket, a slow fan, a failed fill tube heater or a defrost fault allows frost to accumulate until the auger seizes. We test all four together, since a new ice maker alone rarely ends the problem.
The column refrigerators and freezers are simpler but share the touch-control architecture, so a column that stops cooling gets a control and sensor check alongside the usual fan and defrost tests. Dishwashers in the same kitchens tend to need drain pumps and door latch switches.
Parts Lead Times and the Repair Decision
Pumps, igniters, valves and sensors frequently overlap with Frigidaire and are simple to source. Some boards, steam parts, bearings and cosmetic pieces are unique to an Electrolux chassis and can take longer. We tell you which kind of part you need before you commit, and we mention it if the appliance may still be covered by the manufacturer.
An Electrolux refrigerator with a healthy sealed system and an ice, fan or control problem is nearly always worth repairing. An older washer that needs tub bearings is a closer decision, and we lay out the price and the condition of the rest of the machine so you can choose with real numbers.
Looking for model numbers, recall notices or warranty registration? Those live on the manufacturer's own site: Electrolux official site. We are an independent repair company and are not affiliated with Electrolux.
