Bertazzoni Repair for Italian Ranges and Matching Appliances
A Bertazzoni range runs on a few simple principles: sealed burners, a flame-safety probe at each one, and spark ignition. Tampa ProFix works through those systems in order and gives you a clear price before any repair.

Bertazzoni is a family company from Guastalla in northern Italy whose history reaches back to the 1880s. Its signature product is the freestanding gas or dual-fuel range, often in colored enamel, and the line now also includes built-in ovens, induction cooktops, refrigerators and dishwashers. On a Bertazzoni we clean, reseat and inspect each burner before testing thermocouples, ignition switches or the spark module, since dirty caps cause many no-light calls. Imported parts are matched to the exact series and color before anything is ordered.

A Family Range Maker From Northern Italy
Bertazzoni is still family-run from Guastalla, a town in the Emilia-Romagna region, and its history goes back to the 1880s. The freestanding range remains the center of the brand, offered in Professional, Master and Heritage series and often finished in bold colored enamel.
More recently the line has grown to include built-in ovens, rangetops, induction hobs, refrigerators and panel-ready dishwashers styled to match. We see those less often, and their parts support can differ from the range side, so we confirm the product family before quoting.
The Reason for Holding the Knob Down
Most Bertazzoni gas burners use a thermocouple, a slim metal probe next to the burner head. Gas keeps flowing only after the probe has warmed in the flame, which is why the manual asks you to keep the knob pressed for several seconds. If the flame blows out, the valve closes.
A probe coated in residue, knocked out of position or simply aged lets the burner light and then go out as soon as you let go. Owners often suspect the gas supply. We clean and realign the probe, check where it connects at the valve, and replace it only if it still will not hold.
Clean and Reseat Before Blaming Electronics
Bertazzoni caps and heads must sit squarely on their bases. A cap nudged off center, or ports blocked by boiled-over starch, gives a weak, yellow or lopsided flame, and the spark may never meet the gas. We strip, clean and reseat the burner and check the electrode gap before testing the spark module.
Water causes the rest. Boilovers and steam from stockpots run down the valve stems to the ignition switches behind the knobs, and one wet switch can set every burner clicking. Sometimes drying it out is enough. If a switch or its wiring has corroded, it gets replaced.
Ovens, Doors and Colored Enamel
On dual-fuel models the oven is electric with a convection fan, while all-gas models light the oven burner with a dedicated igniter and protect it with a separate safety valve. Thermostats and probes wander after years of heating, so we check the cavity temperature ourselves before calling one bad.
Other oven problems include noisy or stalled fan motors, hinges that let the door shut crooked, and gaskets that lose heat at the corners. Enamel etched by oven cleaner or scouring pads cannot be fixed in place, so we recommend mild soap, a soft cloth and drying everything well.
Imported Parts and the Repair Decision
Genuine Bertazzoni parts arrive from Italy through a specialist importer and can take longer than domestic brands. Electrodes and thermocouples are usually straightforward. Knobs, trim, caps and door panels must match the exact series and color, so we photograph the data plate and confirm numbers before ordering.
Built on a stout steel chassis with cast-iron grates and uncomplicated valves, most Bertazzoni ranges are worth fixing even when they are older. Replacement begins to make sense when the enamel and cavity are badly worn, a board for an electric model cannot be had, or several big failures show up together.
Looking for model numbers, recall notices or warranty registration? Those live on the manufacturer's own site: Bertazzoni official site. We are an independent repair company and are not affiliated with Bertazzoni.
