Freezer repair for west Pasco garages and utility rooms

Summer heat in a closed garage in Hudson or Port Richey can push past what many freezers are rated to handle. The compressor runs nonstop, the cabinet sweats, and an upright with auto defrost can build frost faster than it clears it. When the defrost heater, timer or thermostat fails, the evaporator ices over and the unit warms. Chest freezers fail at the thermostat, start relay, lid hinges and gasket. Near the canals, salt air pits the condenser coils and the steel cabinet.

Owner check: set a thermometer in the middle of the load overnight and look for a reading near 0 degrees. Check the gasket for gaps, defrost a chest freezer once the ice passes about a quarter inch, and leave room around the condenser.
